About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Centre Manager to lead our Dorchester centre, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support for our learners with specialist educational needs within our specialist college setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, a passion for fostering a positive environment for both staff and learners, and ideally have an educational background.

Duties
1. Lead and supervise a diverse team, ensuring high levels of motivation and performance.
2. Ensure quality of teaching meets QA requirements.
3. Achieve performance targets.
4. Maintain all data accurately on company systems in a timely manner.
5. Attend and report at KIT meetings with Managers and SMT meetings.
6. Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
7. Establish and maintain links with commissioning organisations.
8. Participate in network meetings with external organisations.
9. Attend meetings regarding young people with other professionals.
10. Complete paperwork for young people's meetings on external platforms when needed.
11. Maintain excellent relationships with other Centre Managers.
12. Collaborate with Engagement Coordinator to meet recruitment targets.
13. Work with SENCO for screening EHCP consultations.
14. Manage timetabling and staff allocation.
15. Coordinate staff cover arrangements.
16. Oversee building facilities management.
17. Ensure compliance with H&S regulations and promote a safe environment.
18. Implement safeguarding, E&D, and Prevent policies.
19. Conduct quarterly 1:1 staff reviews.
20. Arrange staff training, both online and in-person.
21. Prepare reports for Head of Learning and Directors.
22. Provide cover for other Centre Managers if required.
23. Contribute to OFSTED and MATRIX planning.
24. Participate in quality monitoring and inspections.
25. Ensure staff meet reporting requirements.
26. Champion a specific role (to be confirmed).
27. Implement support plans for students with behaviour, attendance, or engagement challenges.
28. Manage expenses and timesheets for staff and submit to HR.
29. Perform other duties as appropriate.
Requirements
1. Proven managerial or supervisory experience in a similar environment.
2. Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage a diverse team.
3. Teaching qualifications.
4. Experience working with young adults with SEND, anxiety, or behavioural difficulties.
5. Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
6. Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
7. Familiarity with relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation.
8. Understanding of curriculum and learning strategies.
9. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
10. Proactive problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
11. Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
