Senior Civil Engineer Location: Birmingham Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 (DOE) plus benefits package

We're working with a respected, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong presence in Birmingham and a growing pipeline of work. Their team is known for delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse range of development and infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to play a key role in project delivery and team development.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to lead projects from concept through to completion, managing both technical delivery and client relationships. You will oversee junior engineers and technicians, contribute to commercial decisions and play an important role in maintaining high standards across project outputs. It is a strong platform for progression within a supportive and ambitious team.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing projects with full client and third-party liaison
* Coordinating engineers, technicians and senior team members
* Responsibility for health & safety and commercial risk of your projects
* Leading production of drawings, calculations, reports etc.
* Reviewing and overseeing the work of junior team members
* Using design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Causeway Flow
* Preparing/reviewing briefs, fee proposals and resource planning
* Supporting cost estimates and identifying further work opportunities

* Experience in civil engineering design within a consultancy environment
* Strong project management and coordination skills
* Ability to lead projects and take technical ownership of deliverables
* Confident communicator with clients and internal teams
* Proficiency in relevant design software
* A proactive and solutions focused approach
* Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-performing environment
* Adaptable and capable of managing changing project requirements
