We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join our clients team in Inverness, supporting the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects across Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful planning and programme management of complex, large-scale projects that contribute to the UK's energy transition.
Working closely with project leadership, engineering teams and key stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing and managing robust project schedules, ensuring effective planning controls are in place throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and management of integrated project programmes for major energy infrastructure projects.

Establish and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software.
*
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and develop mitigation strategies.
*
Provide programme analysis, reporting and forecasting to project leadership and stakeholders.
*
Work collaboratively with engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure realistic and achievable project timelines.
*
Support the implementation of planning standards, processes and best practices across projects.
*
Lead planning meetings, progress reviews and schedule risk assessments.
*
Manage and mentor planning engineers within the project team where applicable.
About You
*
Proven experience in a Planning Manager or Senior Planner role within infrastructure, energy, utilities or major construction projects.
*
Strong experience in project scheduling and programme management across large, complex projects.
*
Proficiency in planning tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or similar.
*
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex project data.
*
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction management or a related discipline (or relevant experience).
Desirable
*
Experience delivering energy, renewable or power transmission projects.
*
Knowledge of NEC or similar contract frameworks.
*
Experience managing planning teams across multi-disciplinary projects.
