We are seeking an experienced Murex Business Analyst to support a front-to-back Murex implementation and enhancement programme focused on precious metals trading (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, etc.). The BA will bridge trading, risk, operations, and technology teams to deliver robust solutions across pricing, trade capture, risk, settlement, and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Gather and document business and functional requirements specifically for precious metals products (spot, forwards, options, swaps, structured products).
* Configure and enhance relevant Murex modules (trade capture, risk, market data, P&L, back office) to support the metals desk.
* Perform gap analysis between Murex standard functionality and the business requirements of a precious-metals trading operation, including physical vs. financial trades and vault/delivery processes.
* Define and validate interfaces with upstream/downstream systems (market data feeds, logistics, accounting, inventory management).
* Design and oversee end-to-end testing: pricing models, curve building, risk measures (e.g. delta, gamma, vega) specific to metals.
* Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements (EMIR, MiFID, Dodd-Frank) relevant to commodity derivatives.
* Provide expert post-go-live support, troubleshoot complex trade and settlement scenarios, and manage change requests.
Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years as a Business Analyst or Functional Consultant in capital markets with at least 3+ years’ hands-on Murex experience (MX.3 preferred).
* Solid understanding of the precious metals market:
* Physical and paper trades, loco management, delivery/settlement logistics.
* Hedging strategies, pricing conventions (forward curves, lease rates).
* Optionality and structured products for metals.
* Strong grasp of the trade lifecycle across commodities: pricing, booking, risk, P&L, confirmations, settlements.
* Proficiency in Murex configuration for commodities/precious metals, including:
* Market data setup (curves, vol surfaces)
* Datamart/reporting
* MxML workflows and feeds
* Advanced SQL for data validation and reconciliation.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to liaise with traders, risk managers, operations, and IT.
* Experience with UAT coordination, defect management, and Agile or hybrid delivery methods.
Deliverables:
* Approved functional and technical specifications tailored to precious metals trading.
* Fully tested Murex configuration enabling accurate pricing, booking, and settlement of precious metals trades.
* Successful go-live with minimal defects and comprehensive documentation for BAU teams.
