Planning and Resources Manager - Exhibitions and Temporary Displays
Type: Full-time, 41 hours per week (including one hour paid lunch break)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £56,195 per annum

About the role
This role is key to the successful and effective delivery of the British Museum's world-class exhibition programme. Working closely with the Project Management team and across the museum, this person will facilitate the planning and delivery of projects and business-as-usual activity within the Exhibitions & Temporary Display and Design & Interpretation functions. The role involves leading a team of technical and production staff, managing external contractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating internal services and stakeholders to deliver high-quality exhibitions within time and budget constraints.
Job Requirements
* Experience managing large-scale or construction projects with multidisciplinary teams.
* Experience in project management including risk management, issue resolution, change management, and budget control.
* Ability to plan and manage multiple projects or work packages, including resource planning and scheduling.
* Excellent organizational and administrative skills with a track record of delivering multidisciplinary projects on time and within budget.
* Strong research, reporting, and project briefing skills to meet client needs and design goals.
* Proficiency in planning, prioritizing, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead operational planning for exhibitions, temporary displays, and design activities, including resource and asset management.
* Oversee the construction and dismantling of exhibitions, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to budget and schedule.
* Support procurement processes for construction and technical services, including tender preparation and contractor selection.
* Provide technical support for exhibition delivery and design services.
* Maintain effective mechanisms and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
