Job Overview:
As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will develop detailed designs for manufacturing machinery and associated components, ensuring compliance with performance specifications and industry standards. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product innovation and ensure quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and Development: Create 3D models and detailed drafts using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
* Analysis and Validation: Conduct stress, thermal, and vibration analysis using simulation tools like FEA and CFD.
* Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to produce and evaluate prototypes, implementing design improvements as needed.
* Technical Documentation: Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate records of design revisions.
* Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams, as well as liaising with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry knowledge and experience.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Solidedge).
* Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
* Familiarity with engineering analysis tools.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
* Knowledge of vibration analysis, stress dynamics, and balancing techniques.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to design challenges.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
