York St John University is seeking an innovative leader for the position of Head of School of Science, Technology and Health. As a member of our Senior Strategic Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership and accountability for the School, ensuring we deliver on our commitment to educational excellence and community engagement. You will inspire a dedicated team fostering an inclusive environment that aligns with our shared vision for success.

The successful candidate will possess a strong academic background and a proven track record in leadership, ideally within higher education. Your ability to inspire and engage colleagues, students, and stakeholders is crucial. You will need an understanding of current trends, the challenges and opportunities presented by changing policies, and a commitment to innovative teaching and research practices.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and accountability for the School as a member of the Senior Strategic Leadership Team, ensuring educational excellence and community engagement.
* Inspire a dedicated team and foster an inclusive environment aligned with the shared vision for success.
* Redefine the curriculum and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and stakeholders.
* Lead strategic initiatives that foster an innovative academic environment, empowering staff and students.
* Report to the Pro Vice Chancellor of Education; ensure exceptional performance across teaching, research, and community engagement; develop a high-quality, relevant curriculum.
* Enhance regional and international reputation and promote interdisciplinary collaboration with internal and external partners; focus on student experience and employability prospects.
* Shape and implement the strategic roadmap for the School, aligning with the overall York St John Strategy; lead continuous enhancement of curriculum and pedagogical approaches.
* Foster a culture of mentorship and support for academic colleagues to build skills and confidence to excel.
Qualifications
* Strong academic background and a proven track record in leadership, ideally within higher education.
* Ability to inspire and engage colleagues, students, and stakeholders.
* Understanding of current trends, policy challenges and opportunities, and a commitment to innovative teaching and research practices.
