If that sounds like your kind of team, read on. Role Purpose We’re looking for a passionate Mixed Methods User Researcher with 3 years of hands-on experience to join our growing team. You’ll design and lead research that tells compelling stories, brings clarity to complexity, and directly shapes customer-focused design and business decisions. Working across product, design, and business teams, your research will drive business strategy and product development. You should be a curious storyteller who is experienced in designing and applying research methodologies which generate rich, actionable insights. You’ll play a key part in creating continuous insight streams which identify opportunities, promote business wide engagement with research findings to track and improve business objectives. Key Responsibilities Research Design and Delivery • Plan and execute mixed-methods research inline with business priorities and stakeholder needs. (SFIA Skill: INVL, Level 4–5). • Select and apply appropriate methodologies to meet specific project goals. • Establish continuous insight practices across the company • Design and conduct qualitative interviews with existing members and non-members. • Lead both moderated and unmoderated usability testing sessions (SFIA Skill: RSCH, Level 5). • Analyse research data and synthesise into business-relevant insights. Influence and Communicate • Transform complex data into meaningful narratives that drive engagement and action (SFIA Skill: INCA, Level 5). • Create compelling, visual reports and presentations that speak to stakeholders across departments. • Advocate for user-centred design and data-driven decisions through workshops, showcases, and insight-sharing across the business. Operational Responsibilities • Establish and maintain research operations and processes including: participant recruitment budget management writing participant consent forms and non disclosure agreements which comply with GDPR and standard ethical practices manage and prioritise research initiatives (SFIA Skill: METL, Level 4). • Uphold research quality and data protection and ethical standards • Recognise and mitigate bias at every opportunity. Strategic Contribution • Generate personas, map user journeys, and support user-experience design aligned with customer and business goals. • Align research with business OKRs and demonstrate ROI through well-defined research KPIs. • Partner with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to embed insight in strategy and delivery. Collaboration and Culture • Collaborate with teams such as Marketing, Member Experience, and Engineering to both align on research findings and support their specific insight needs through tailored research requests (SFIA Skill: RLMT, Level 4–5). • Coach non-researchers in research best-practices where appropriate. What You’ll Bring • 3 years experience in applied user research, ideally in product or service design environments. • A MA degree in sociology, psychology or behavioural science. • Demonstrated ability to design and launch effective surveys, and triangulate data using mixed methods. • Strong awareness of strengths and limitations of qualitative and quantitative methods, and how to apply them, while actively minimising bias. • Confident in analysing qualitative data and presenting findings in a clear, actionable format. • Proven experience influencing stakeholders through research storytelling. • Proven experience with evaluating and using research tools. • Be the voice of user-centred design and data driven decision making whilst working within an agile environment • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple research work streams within evolving business needs.
