Overview
Our Academy of Engineering covers Agricultural, Motor Vehicle and Large Transport Vehicle Engineering which includes Bus and Coach, Construction Plant, and Rail, with multiple training facilities across our campus to ensure our learners are industry focused and career ready. The College has significantly invested in the Engineering facility, with a £7 million Advanced Engineering and Agri‑Tech Centre boasting some fantastic, state‑of‑the‑art facilities and equipment for teaching purposes. A new facility, at our Reaseheath Engineering Apprenticeship Academy, was purpose built to accommodate the growth in demand within Large Transport Vehicle engineering. We also have an impressive five‑bay and hi‑spec equipment facility for our Motor Vehicle cohort.
About the role
Due to significant growth in the Engineering department, we are looking for a motivated and innovative Advanced Technical Trainer to deliver high‑quality, progressive training and assessment for Bus and Coach Apprentices. This is a vital role to the Engineering department, providing practical delivery to our Apprentices who are on block release from their employers.
Key responsibilities
* Plan, develop, and deliver Bus and Coach apprenticeship training that meets industry and accreditation standards.
* Lead and mentor students through engaging theory, practical, and assessment activities.
* Conduct vocational assessments both on‑site and off‑site for our national programmes.
* Work flexibly across all areas of the Engineering department to share knowledge and expertise.
* Provide guidance and support to apprentices and employer partners.
Successful candidate will
* Industry experience in Bus and Coach operations, maintenance, or engineering.
* A minimum Level 3 qualification with the vocational area.
* Strong teaching, training, or mentoring skills (teaching qualifications desirable but not essential).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety standards, and qualifications.
