Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering, managing and developing all digital systems required by the Trust and the Pharmacy department to deliver safe and effective medicines processes, including the Trust electronic prescribing system and all programmes that interface with it.
You will also provide expert advice on pharmaceutical and digital matters on all aspects relating to digital and electronic systems concerning medicines and Pharmacy, ensuring that the systems have contingency. Undertake risk assessments and risk management of all medicines‑related digital systems, ensure compliance with medicines legislation, and lead and develop the audit of digital systems.
This is a senior and highly visible role within Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital Trust and the Integrated Care System. The postholder will work with significant autonomy and be expected to liaise with clinicians and other senior managers.
Responsible for the delivery of the Trust's Digital Programme relating to medicines, ensuring the implementation of technology in a safe and controlled manner.
Lead on the development, maintenance and optimisation of the electronic prescribing and administration elements of the Trust Electronic Patient Records (EPR) system.
Be responsible for the risk management, quality assurance and continuous improvement of the electronic prescribing and administration system.
Ensure that there are safe and adequate contingency systems in place in the event of computer system failure for electronic prescribing and medicines administration.
Work closely with the Electronic Patient Records (EPR) Team and Digital Programme team to provide pharmacist oversight and authority to all digital initiatives that impact medicines optimisation.
Promote and support digital innovation in all systems and processes relating to medicines within the Pharmacy and across the Trust.
Work at a senior level and provide expert medicines optimisation input in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of systems and services to support clinical practice.
