About the Role
I've been instructed by my client to look for a motivated Finance Assistant to join their team and support the day-to-day running of the finance function. This role offers exposure to both transactional responsibilities and more analytical tasks, providing a strong foundation for someone keen to grow within a finance career.
They are a trusted partner to organisations across the UK, delivering a wide range of services that keep their clients' business efficient and operational. Their work spans multiple sectors, from corporate offices and retail to healthcare, education, and public services.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with processing invoices, expenses, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
* Support the month-end process through reconciliations, accruals, and journals.
* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across systems.
* Provide support in preparing management reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
* Partner with internal teams to provide insight on costs, budgets, and financial performance.
* Contribute to forecasting and budgeting cycles by gathering and reviewing data.
* Help identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
Skills & Experience
* A strong eye for detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
* Good Excel and systems skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret data.
* Proactive approach to problem solving, with confidence to question and challenge.
* Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with colleagues across the business.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Studying towards or interested in pursuing a professional accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
