Overview
Aylesbury Opportunities Centre is looking for Social Care Assistants to provide high‑quality direct care and support to residents in our day centres and short‑break centres. The centre offers day support and activities for adults with learning disabilities, autism, dementia and/or physical disabilities, and is rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission.
Positions Available
* 1 x Social Care Assistant (day centre) – 27.5 hours per week
* 1 x Social Care Assistant (overnight respite) – 30 hours per week
* 1 x Social Care Assistant (overnight respite) – 20 hours per week
Salary
£25,151 – £28,253 per annum pro rata. Includes a £1,000 “Golden Hello” payment upon successful completion of the probationary period, pro rata for part‑time hours.
About the Role
As a Social Care Assistant, you will support individuals with personal care and provide suitable activities. You will work in small groups and maintain client files and support plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personal care, including dressing, toileting and washing.
* Key work with a small group of clients.
* Organise and facilitate activity sessions.
* Maintain client files and support plans.
* Report and safeguard concerns following procedure.
* Work in partnership with individuals, carers, service providers, voluntary sector and other professionals.
* Work as part of a team.
Qualifications
* Minimum Level 2 Care Certificate.
* Previous experience in the care sector, preferably with people with learning disabilities, autism, dementia or physical disabilities.
* Ability to travel to other day centres and flexibility to adapt to new practice and location.
* Valid right to work in the UK – no visa sponsorship available.
Working arrangements
The service operates 24 hours/365 days a year. Working patterns will be discussed at interview and be reflected in the agreed schedule.
