Randstad Education is actively searching for an insightful, proactive, and compassionate Learning Mentor focused on Special Educational Needs (SEN) for a respected institution in Liverpool. Responsibilities
* Bespoke Student Engagement: Deliver focused, individualised instruction and small‑group academic support to students with identified special educational needs.
* Curriculum Implementation: Collaborate closely with the class teacher to effectively put into action learning plans and support differentiated teaching strategies.
* Behaviour and Environment Management: Assist in maintaining a safe, organised, and positive behavioural framework within the classroom.
* Progress Documentation: Accurately monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and attainment against agreed targets.
* Holistic Guidance: Serve as a reliable confidant and motivator, building strong rapport to encourage students' emotional and social development alongside their education.
Requirements
* Practical Experience: A non‑negotiable minimum of six months of previous experience providing classroom support, specifically with SEN students, within a UK school setting.
* Personal Attributes: Must possess a naturally calm, flexible, and highly enthusiastic disposition toward supporting diverse learning needs.
* Transferable Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal and written communication, reliable teamwork capabilities, and efficient organisational skills.
* Compliance Vetting: Hold a current and satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, or show immediate willingness for one upon offer.
* Desirable Expertise: Experience with specific intervention strategies or supporting students with needs such as Speech and Language Difficulties or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) is a definite plus.
