<div><h3>Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist – Clinics & Schools</h3><p>The closing date is 18 June 2026.</p><p>As a qualified Speech and Language Therapist you will work with children and young people in clinics and schools, conducting assessments and delivering interventions for a range of conditions, including supporting children with EHCPs. You will be part of an innovative paediatric team, working in close collaboration with Speech and Language Therapy colleagues and other health professionals.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><ul><li>Provide assessment, diagnosis and appropriate speech and language therapy intervention for clients referred to the Service in line with RCSLT Communicating Quality 3.</li><li>Manage a defined caseload independently.</li><li>Prioritise tasks and manage own time with minimal support.</li><li>Decide when to discontinue the management of a client and inform relevant professionals and carers promptly.</li><li>Identify the need for clinical support and seek guidance from senior clinicians to maintain a high quality service.</li><li>Work closely with other agencies and colleagues to exchange information and ensure comprehensive client management, including preparing reports for statutory assessments of special educational needs and undertaking annual reviews where requested.</li><li>Provide information, advice and support to clients and their carers.</li><li>Give and request second opinions when appropriate.</li><li>Attend multi‑disciplinary meetings as required.</li><li>Receive guidance on current practice from senior clinicians.</li><li>Supervise placements of Speech and Language Therapy students and support newly qualified students.</li><li>Participate in the development of innovative practice and activities designed to improve service effectiveness.</li><li>Develop clinical expertise under direction and in consultation with senior clinicians.</li><li>Keep up to date with current clinical and technological advances through discussion with senior clinicians.</li><li>Provide training to others as appropriate.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Degree in Speech and Language Therapy</li><li>HCPC Registered</li><li>Appropriate Postgraduate Qualifications</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Evidence of paediatric assessment and treatment skills.</li><li>Evidence of working with school-aged children.</li><li>Experience of working within a variety of settings including ED and school settings.</li><li>Evidence of caseload management.</li><li>Knowledge of SEND.</li><li>Understanding of MCHT Behaviours and values.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require submission for a Disclosure and Barring Service check to investigate any previous criminal convictions.</p><p>Full time salary: £32,073 to £39,043 per annum, pro rata.</p></div>
