The Role
We are seeking a forward-thinking Insurance & Risk Manager to join our leadership team. This isn't just about ticking compliance boxes—it's about shaping how risk is identified, mitigated, and communicated across the business.
You'll be responsible for managing all aspects of corporate insurance programmes, developing risk management frameworks, and advising both leadership and clients on best practice. You'll also play a pivotal role in building resilience into business operations—helping us and our clients navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape.
What You'll Be Doing
* Insurance Management
* Lead the placement, negotiation, and renewal of corporate insurance policies.
* Liaise with brokers, insurers, and stakeholders to secure optimum coverage and value.
* Monitor claims, manage disputes, and maintain accurate policy records.
* Risk Strategy
* Develop and maintain the organisation's risk management framework.
* Carry out regular risk assessments and scenario planning.
* Work closely with leadership to embed a risk-aware culture across the business.
* Advisory & Leadership
* Advise internal teams and clients on insurance and risk matters.
* Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
* Mentor and guide junior staff where applicable.
* Compliance & Governance
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
* Maintain risk registers and oversee reporting for board and audit committees.
A typical week might include: reviewing renewal terms with brokers, leading a workshop on business continuity planning, and presenting a quarterly risk report to directors.
Must-Have Requirements
* At least 5 years' experience in insurance and/or corporate risk management.
* Strong understanding of insurance markets, claims handling, and risk frameworks.
* Confident negotiator with brokers and insurers.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate risk into business impact.
* Proven communication skills—able to influence at board level.
* Based within commutable distance of Leicester.
Nice-to-Have Skills
* Professional qualifications (e.g. ACII, IRM, or equivalent).
* Experience within consultancy, financial services, or corporate environments.
* Familiarity with enterprise risk management software or systems.
* Experience leading crisis response or continuity planning.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £55,000–£65,000 DOE
