Job Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the Wrexham Child Health Department Reception. This is a part time, permanent post which covers a range of administrative tasks to aid the continuity of an extremely busy service to our patients/carers and other professional colleagues. Previous reception and customer service experience is essential. You will also have knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel. The ability to prioritise your work and be highly organised is paramount to this post, as is excellent interpersonal skills, which includes a friendly telephone manner, whilst providing a professional, sensitive manner and maintaining confidentiality at all times. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide a professional and efficient reception service within the Child health reception area, ensuring that all patients and visitors are welcomed to the department in an appropriate manner. By the nature of the duties, the post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients, carers, relatives, medical staff and other service users, using the telephone and in writing, with courtesy and discretion at all times. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria GCSE Level A-C Welsh Speaker Desirable criteria NVQ or equivalent qualification/experience ECDL Experience Essential criteria Previous Customer Service/Receptionist experience Desirable criteria Experience in all office procedures within an NHS environment Knowledge of WPAS Knowledge & Skills Essential criteria Welsh Speaker Able to work to deadlines Able to communicate with all staff groups patients and families Desirable criteria Able to demonstrate experience in all aspects of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook Demonstrate excellent communications skills Personal Qualities Essential Criteria Approachable and professional in dealing with our service users Ability to work alone or as a member of a team Able to manage own workload A flexible approach towards duties and responsibilities Other Essential criteria Friendly and efficient telephone manner Remain calm under pressure
