Project Engineer - Rail at RT Consulting
Contract: 6 month contract • Sheffield • Up to £600 Outside IR35 • Rail Experience Needed
Responsibilities
* Engineering Delivery: Undertake technical tasks across light rail disciplines including traction power, depot upgrades, signalling, communications, and asset management.
* Lead scheme development through investigation, site inspections, data analysis, design, and construction supervision.
* Apply independent engineering judgement to deliver innovative solutions.
Project Management
* Deliver projects within the £100m renewal programme to agreed standards of time, cost, quality, and safety.
* Manage multi-disciplinary teams including internal staff, contractors, transport operators, and external advisors.
* Monitor progress, resolve issues, and make timely decisions to maintain budget and schedule.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Project Controls & Reporting
* Produce and maintain project documentation including schedules, risk registers, cost reports, change logs, and monthly updates.
* Lead financial management of projects including forecasting, fee control, construction costs, and contingency planning.
* Support final account preparation and accurate reporting throughout all project stages.
