IMultiply are supporting a fast-growing and well-established organisation based in St Albans to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on and detail-oriented finance professional to join a growing finance function within a dynamic and evolving business.
The Role
This role sits within a close-knit and supportive finance team and will play a key role in delivering accurate transactional finance while supporting period-end close. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day finance operations and contribute to continuous improvement across finance processes and controls.
As the Senior Finance Assistant, you will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:
Daily bank postings and bank reconciliations
Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
Supplier statement reconciliations and resolution of queries
Corporate card expense reconciliation and postings
Monthly staff expense claims reconciliation and postings
Customer debt management and credit control activities
Participation in regular debtor review meetings
Intercompany trading postings and reconciliations
Raising and posting sales invoices where required
Maintaining accurate ledgers and audit trails
Assisting in the period-end close process, including accruals and prepayments
Preparation and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations
Supporting the Group Finance Controller with month-end and reporting activities
Assisting with audit and year-end processes
Supporting the rollout of a new finance system and embedding improved processes
Other ad-hoc finance duties as required
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following:
Proven experience in a transactional finance or senior finance assistant role
Strong experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and expenses
Experience supporting period-end close activities
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage workload effectively and use own initiative
A proactive, positive and can-do attitude
Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
Desirable:
AAT qualified or part-qualified, or equivalent experience
Experience working with integrated finance or ERP systems
Exposure to multi-entity or intercompany environments
Experience working in a fast-paced or growing organisation
