The Role
As a Casual Kitchen Assistant you will play a key role in supporting the kitchen team by ensuring a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. You will assist in food preparation, washing dishes, and maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are upheld.
Start Date: We are looking for candidates who are available to start at the beginning of September, with a couple of induction shifts throughout August.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work with brand new equipment in a recently upgraded kitchen, supporting an exciting new phase of our food operation.
The Responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, including equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
* Support the kitchen team with food preparation, including basic tasks such as chopping and ingredient prep.
* Ensure all dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitised efficiently.
* Assist with stock deliveries, ensuring items are stored correctly and safely.
* Dispose of kitchen waste safely and maintain a tidy working environment.
* Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
* Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
* Prioritise tasks effectively to support service during busy periods

* Previous experience in a kitchen or similar fast-paced environment is desirable.
* Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
* A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to support the wider team.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a physically demanding role.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional approach at all times.
* A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and busy event periods.
