As Transport Resource Manager (6-month FTC), you will work closely with our three Transport Hub teams, ensuring sufficient driver resource to support circa 600 routes per day. You will also collaborate with Hub Transport Managers and Driver Trainer Managers, taking ownership of forecasting, planning, and agency performance management across all hubs. A strong focus on summer and peak planning will be essential, as you analyse trends, track performance, and proactively identify potential resource gaps across the network. This is a high-impact role where you will act as the key relationship manager between EVRi and our agency partners, coordinating driver resourcing while providing accurate forecasts and regular performance reviews.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead resource management and forecasting, ensuring delivery against SLAs in collaboration with Hub Transport Managers and Driver Trainer Managers across three hubs
* Build and maintain robust forecasting models, using historical data and business trends to predict future resource requirements
* Act as the primary liaison with outsourced agencies, coordinating availability, conducting regular performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement
* Track and report key management information including agency availability, churn, productivity, and KPI performance, presenting insights to senior leadership
* Optimise planning processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and eliminate bottlenecks
* Develop and implement comprehensive resource plans and shift schedules, aligned to demand, driver availability, and SLA commitments
* Analyse operational data and market trends to identify risks, forecast shortages, and implement contingency plans, including cost considerations
* Ensure effective stakeholder communication, providing data-driven insights to influence decision-making
* Establish and manage KPIs aligned to business objectives, ensuring clear visibility of operational performance
* Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain high standards of planning, compliance, and utilisation
* Implement systems to accurately track and monitor outsourced labour performance
What you’ll bring to the role
* Proven experience in managing high volume operational recruitment
* Strong agency management experience
* Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting multiple data sources to drive decisions
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
* Confident in building and leveraging data-driven forecasting and workforce planning models
* Ability to influence transport compliance decisions across a multi-site operation
* Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong ability to spot trends and convert insight into action
* Proven ability to remotely influence senior stakeholders, including Area Managers, Operations Managers, General Managers, and Transport Managers
