JDR Recrutiment are recruiting for a Part-Time Cleaner with an Enhanced DBS check to work in a nursery based in Tyldesley, M29. Job Purpose: To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the nursery, ensuring all areas meet health, safety, and regulatory standards. This role supports the wellbeing of children, staff, and visitors by upholding high cleaning standards at all times. Key Responsibilities: Daily Cleaning Duties Clean and sanitise classrooms, play areas, corridors, staff rooms, and offices. Wipe down surfaces including tables, chairs, shelves, and worktops. Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, baby‑changing areas, and bathroom facilities. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required. Dispose of rubbish and recycling in line with nursery policies. Deep Cleaning & Hygiene Duties Conduct deeper cleaning of toys, equipment, and high‑touch areas (e.g., door handles, light switches). Clean kitchenettes and food preparation zones (not cooking duties). Follow set cleaning schedules and checklists. Refill consumables such as soap, sanitiser, paper towels, and toilet tissue. Health, Safety & Compliance Follow strict hygiene practices in line with early years regulations (e.g., EYFS hygiene requirements). Use cleaning products safely according to COSHH guidelines. Immediately report any maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns. Ensure storage of cleaning materials is safe and inaccessible to children. Required Skills & Attributes Strong attention to detail. Good organisational and time‑management skills. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards. Friendly and professional, with an understanding of working in an environment with young children. Experience & Qualifications Essential: Experience in cleaning roles (commercial or domestic). Understanding of basic hygiene and sanitation standards. MUST HAVE A VALID ENHANCED DBS CERTIFICATE Desirable: Experience working in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings. Knowledge of COSHH (training can be provided). 5. Physical Requirements Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods. Comfortable using cleaning equipment and supplies.
