Hours: Full Time | Permanent
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 per annum
Job Description
Our client is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a fast-paced and innovative engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on the design, development, and testing of electronic systems within a highly technical and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities of an Electronics Engineer:
* Design and develop electronic systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout
* Produce PCB designs suitable for manufacture (DFM)
* Carry out debugging, testing, and validation of electronic hardware
* Build and rework prototypes, including soldering and desoldering components
* Support rapid prototyping using 3D printing and CAD tools
* Specify, purchase, and set up lab equipment to support development activities
* Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) simulations
* Implement structured testing processes to improve reliability and performance
* Work with low power RF systems and wireless communication technologies
* Work closely with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and physics disciplines
* Support research activities aligned with customer requirements and market needs
* Represent the business at events, exhibitions, and seminars when required
Key Skills of an Electronics Engineer:
* Experience in electronics design, including schematic and PCB layout (Altium preferred)
* Strong understanding of PCB design for manufacture (DFM)
* Hands-on experience with soldering and hardware prototyping
* Experience with debugging and testing electronic systems
* Familiarity with CAD tools such as Autodesk Fusion or similar
* Understanding of RF systems and wireless technologies (e.g. LoRa)
* Basic knowledge of embedded software environments (C/C++, Arduino, ESP32 desirable)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage projects from concept through to completion
* Confident communicator, able to work across multiple disciplines
