Job responsibilities
* Lead the Public Health Intelligence Team, ensuring delivery of high-quality analysis and robust management of public health datasets.
* Design and manage a programme of joined-up public health intelligence across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough system, including the Integrated Care System, Local and Combined Authorities and wider partners.
* Support wider public health priorities in collaboration with colleagues in the Public Health team.
* Upskill the Public Health workforce with data and intelligence competency, in line with standards.
* Develop digital solutions and intelligence tools to make public health intelligence accessible to colleagues, system partners and the general public.
* Act as a senior expert in public health intelligence, advising senior leaders and elected members.
You will work closely with the wider public health team, including the new Director of Public Health, to understand and manage their intelligence and insight needs and direct the Analysts as appropriate.
About you
We are looking for an individual with excellent knowledge, skills and experience of working with linked patient-level data (health, social care and wider determinants datasets), and an understanding of the health and care system and public health's role within it. You will bring the skills to undertake analytical work yourself and quality assure the work of others. A good understanding of information governance is essential.
The role will have line management and team management responsibility for a small but skilled group of Analysts, some of whom are new to working in health intelligence, so we are looking for someone with the enthusiasm for supporting diverse training and learning needs.
