A day in the life of a Logistics Manager As a Logistics Manager, you will oversee warehouse operations to achieve exceptional service, cost efficiency, and personnel performance aligned with the Operational Management Plan (OMP). Key responsibilities include: - Safety and Compliance: Enforce Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, and CARE regulations. - KPI Management: Set and monitor warehousing service and cost KPIs, ensuring they meet target values. - Continuous Improvement: Implement structured improvement initiatives using best practices and tools. - Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives to enhance warehouse performance and efficiency. - Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the warehousing budget, including cost and investment planning. - Procurement Support: Collaborate with procurement to negotiate contracts and manage service provider relationships. - Cross-Functional Influence: Work with Distribution Management, Production Planning, and Customer Service to optimize service and costs. - LEAN Implementation: Support the rollout of LEAN practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement. What Will Make You Successful? To excel as a Logistics Manager, you should possess operational leadership experience in warehouse management. Key attributes include: - Dynamic Leadership: Cultivate a culture of trust and transparency to inspire your team, while demonstrating the flexibility to adapt to changing seasonal demands. - LEAN Experience: Background in a LEAN organization, utilizing LEAN concepts and tools. - Business Acumen: Proficient in business planning, budget control, and cost management. - Project Management: Experience in warehouse design, distribution network redesign, and high-performance logistics. - Decision-Making: Ability to prioritize and make informed decisions under pressure. - Quality Under Pressure: Maintain high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines. - Team Leadership: Strong coaching skills to achieve customer service targets and drive strategic thinking in warehousing.
