Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Specialist to work on Authoritative Data Source in Data Provenance team. This role responsible for identifying and evaluating authoritative data sources (internal and external), ensuring they are credible, up-to-date, and aligned with NESO needs and data governance policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Data Source identification and discovery.
• Proactively assess and evaluate authoritative data sources (internal and external) through collaborate with data architects, data owners, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders
• Develop, implement, and enforce data governance policies and standards around authoritative data sources.
• Document data flows, provenance, and metadata for authoritative data sources to support transparency, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide training and support to other team members and data consumers on how to interpret and utilise authoritative data assets effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data sourcing or data flows/lineage work.
• Experience in data modelling (required to support entity-driven ADS)
• Good understanding of data governance frameworks and practices.
• Proven ability to manage and engage stakeholders (both technical and non-technical).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
• Relevant certifications (e.g. DAMA CDMP)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
• Experience with data management tools and technologies.
• Experience in Data Lineage.
Working Conditions
• Hybrid working arrangements, with a mix of remote and office-based collaboration as required (Wokingham and Warwick).
