Job Description
Join our dynamic Nature team as a Senior Biodiversity Net Gain Specialist in our growing Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham offices (we may also consider other locations across the UK) and enjoy a flexible hybrid working model. In this role you will deliver biodiversity net gain assessments for infrastructure and development projects across the UK, support client and stakeholder engagement, lead bids and tenders, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities
* Deliver ecological BNG inputs for internal and external clients
* Produce and technically review BNG feasibility, design stage reports, NBB assessments and BNG assessments
* Collaborate with the BNG lead to develop BNG Vision across the UK & Ireland
* Upskill ecologists within the business
* Support consultation and engagement with clients, planning authorities, statutory bodies and the public
* Advocate and embed innovation and research into technical capabilities
* Partner with digital and data teams to develop digital biodiversity tools
* Lead production of bids and tenders for ecological and BNG services
* Mentor and support junior staff and peers
Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in ecology or an associated subject, and membership of an appropriate professional institution
* Experience leading BNG assessments on large scale infrastructure projects
* Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and policy
* Experience interpreting UKHABS data and Habitat Condition Assessments
* Experience reviewing technical work, supporting wider team members, and bidding/tendering
