About the Role
As Head of Social Science, you will:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Social Science department (e.g. Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, and related subjects)
Lead on curriculum design, assessment, and quality assurance to ensure excellent outcomes for all students
Inspire, support, and develop a team of dedicated teachers through effective coaching and line management
Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions to raise attainment
Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusivity, and academic curiosity
Contribute to whole-school improvement and leadership initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong track record of results in Social Science subjects
Has experience of leading or contributing to departmental development
Demonstrates strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Is passionate about Social Science and its role in developing critical, informed global citizens
