Senior DevOps Engineer - Cheltenham We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who will join one of our small, fast-paced, agile delivery teams; using agile methodology and DevOps techniques to build backend systems, data processing pipelines, and progressive web apps for customers in the UK Government and Defence sector. Our Engineers take a leading role in the delivery team, from looking after the more complex tasks through to managing relationships with our customers and taking accountability for delivering projects to agreed timelines. This will include ensuring the team are comfortable with their tasks and holding a broader oversight for what everyone within their team is responsible for. You will oversee and play a leading role in the full project lifecycle including project concept formalisation; requirements analysis and specification; architecture design; solution implementation and delivery. You will be using your broad experience across a range of technical tools, languages and methodologies to implement high quality solutions and create innovative and effecting solutions. These will include: Gitlab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Packer, Vault, Serverless, Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Artifactory & Nexus This role requires current high level Security Clearance (eDV) What you will be doing: ▪ Play a leading role in feature teams to efficiently and securely develop, test, deploy, release operate and monitor software products ▪ Design and operate automated CICD pipelines ▪ Design and operate shared Platform services for Deployment, Operation and Monitoring ▪ Design and Operate Platform services for containerised products ▪ Write and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) ▪ Deploy and operate products in public and private cloud environments (AWZ, Azure, On-Prem) ▪ Support and advise teams as they onboard products to shared platform services ▪ Ensuring best practice Agile methodologies (including SCRUM & Kanban) are implemented and followed. ▪ Providing consultancy support to customers, assisting them with technology choices and solutions to complex problems ▪ Managing relationships with our customers ▪ Ensuring your knowledge and professional development keeps pace with an everchanging technology landscape We are looking for: ▪ Cloud technologies including AWS or Azure. ▪ Developing and deploying secure products using appropriate technology and patterns ▪ Implementing best practice across the techniques which enable DevOps - including virtualisation, containerisation, continuous integration, continuous deployment and infrastructure as code. ▪ Experience working to an Agile methodology such as Scrum & Kanban. ▪ Leading the design and development of new solutions or upgraded features. ▪ Providing support / mentoring to employees at the early stages of their career. ▪ Experience with testing frameworks and tools. ▪ Implementing Agile methodology and best practice into a delivery team. *High level Security Clearance required Please contact Frontier Resourcing for a confidential conversation.
