Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated professional to join our Highways team, helping to keep our city’s roads safe, well-maintained, and compliant with statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
In this vital role, you will carry out inspections across the adopted highway network, identify and report defects, and ensure timely remedial action.
You’ll also respond to public reports, councillor enquiries, and urgent safety concerns, maintaining accurate records to support legal compliance and protect the council from claims.
Requirements
You will need a full UK driving licence, and experience in highway safety inspections under the Highways Act 1980.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with the public, colleagues, and stakeholders are essential.
