We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Insurance Claims Handler to join our Claims Specialty Team based in Chelmsford.
This role is highly customer-focused, requiring you to provide an excellent claims service to our clients. Your proven claims handling experience across all classes of commercial claims will ensure professional and efficient management of claims from start to finish, covering various classes of business and presenting claims MI.
This position suits someone eager to progress within insurance, ideally CII qualified or working towards it. The ideal candidate is a natural multi-tasker, well-versed in motor, property, and liability insurance claims handling, with a customer-first approach, utilizing Know Your Customer (KYC) and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) methodologies, and handling claims in line with compliance, FCA regulations, and company policies.
As the business grows, there will be opportunities to participate in other exciting projects.
Responsibilities:
* Managing claims across different products such as Property, Liability, Marine, and Business Interruption, ensuring service standards are met or exceeded
* Maintaining an efficient diary system for all claims, ensuring timely follow-up
* Developing and maintaining a full understanding of Acturis
* Providing claims information and reports to the broking department and clients as required
* Handling complex claims according to group procedures
* Acknowledging new claims to clients and insurers, keeping clients informed, and striving for the best outcomes
* Producing claims MI and reports as needed
* Meeting with clients and presenting claims information when required
* Undertaking additional duties as assigned by management
* Managing personal CPD to keep skills and knowledge current
Experience:
* Robust experience in Property, Liability, Marine, and Business Interruption claims handling, with strong commercial awareness and understanding of claims procedures
* Passion for delivering exceptional customer service, applying TCF and KYC methodologies
* Knowledge of Acturis (desirable), proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Cert CII or working towards it
* Highly organized with excellent time management
* Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
