As Deputy Domiciliary Care Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the management and operational oversight of the domiciliary care service. Your key responsibilities will include: Deputising for the Registered Manager as required and being part of the on‑call rota. Leading and supervising a team of care workers, coordinators and field staff, ensuring high morale and performance. Ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, compliant domiciliary care in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, the Care Act, and other relevant legislation. Managing staff rotas and resource planning to meet service requirements and contractual obligations. Assisting with recruitment, induction and training of care staff; supporting continuous professional development. Overseeing care planning, risk assessments, and reviews for service users, ensuring person‑centred practice. Monitoring service quality through audits, spot‑checks, incident/complaint investigations and implementing improvements. Building and maintaining relationships with service users, families, external agencies (local authorities, health professionals) and stakeholders. Supporting service development, growth initiatives and maintaining contract compliance. Ensuring all staff adhere to policies, procedures and data protection / confidentiality standards. Person Specification : Previous experience in a leadership/supervisory role within domiciliary/home care (e.g., Senior Carer, Care Coordinator, Team Leader) or equivalent. Strong working knowledge of domiciliary care regulations (e.g., CQC Fundamental Standards, Care Act) and good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and quality monitoring. Leadership and people‑management skills – able to motivate, support and develop a team. Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills – comfortable working with staff, service users, families and external stakeholders. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for travelling within the area). IT literate – able to work with databases, care management systems, Microsoft Office/Google Suite. Flexibility and resilience – able to respond to operational demands, participate in an on‑call rota and work occasional evenings/weekends if required, standard hours are Monday to Friday 9-17.
