About the role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager within the ACTS (Army Collective Training Service) Programme, the Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing high quality, accurate and actionable financial analysis and insight to the Finance and Programme teams.
The individual will be relied upon to support the development of the AOP and 5 Year Plan, Quarterly EACs, monthly forecasting and variance analysis. This role would suit an individual looking to grow their potential and skill set, supporting the flawless program execution of the ACTS Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
14. Supporting the achievement of all metrics (bookings, sales, profit, cash).
15. Support in the establishment of the AOP (Annual Operating Plan) and five-year plan targets.
16. Support the Program Execution Team with Quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reporting.
17. Supporting new business proposals as and when required for Gate Reviews including pricing, basis-of-estimate generation, foreign exchange management and risks and opportunities management.
18. Act as the “financial conscience” of the business and ensure Business and Financial Policy adherence.
19. Providing financial insight to support the business risk & opportunities process (development, analysis, mitigation & review).
20. Building a network with all Stakeholders.
21. Champion best practice and look to improve systems and processes.
22. Support the Finance Manager to develop meaningful financial analysis to support new business investment decisions and pricing.
23. Ad-hoc financial analysis and decision support.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
24. Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or Finalist
25. Project Accounting experience
26. Business Partnering skills, working across different internal functions
27. Relevant commercial experience in a similar defence or complex contracting environment
Desirable:
28. Experience of working with SAP, Power BI, MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
29. Proactive, analytical and inquisitive
30. Attention to detail and process adherence
31. Highly organised and self-motivated
32. Excellent communication and presentation skills
