This role sits with our Inclusive Growth and Climate Change practice, which recognises that the threats posed by climate change are global and have the potential to reverse hard-fought development gains. We believe the transformative change needed to address these threats must be based on a robust understanding of what works and why. The evaluation and learning work we do to understand climate change, natural resources and resilience helps our partners to use evidence-based findings to make decisions which lead to informed investments and actionable change towards a low carbon, climate-resilient future.
The role
You will be joining a team who are passionate about having a positive impact on people and the planet through the support we provide clients to use evidence. Your role will involve the technical delivery and project management of our monitoring, evaluation and learning projects. You will also have a role in supporting business development activities to continue to grow our portfolio.
You will have the opportunity to work across the portfolio relevant to your experience and interests. You will contribute to the successful delivery and management of projects, build and own relationships with key client stakeholders, contribute to business development activities, share learning through knowledge products and, where possible, external conferences and events, and be a part of maintaining our excellent reputation with our external teams and clients.
Our support to clients encompasses a range of economic development and climate change projects including; climate finance, resilience and adaptation, natural resource management / nature-based solutions, marine and coastal communities, impact investing and innovative finance, markets systems development, agriculture, private sector development, social business and supply chains, financial inclusion, youth employment, infrastructure and cities and women’s economic empowerment.
The core technical strengths of all our consultants are focused around four key areas:
* Evidence Ad vocate: generating robust evidence and using this to support clients and shape global debates
* Change Agent: supporting clients in reflecting, learning and managing change
* Project M anager: contributing to and building high performing project teams that deliver quality and commercial targets
* Trusted Ad visor: building long term relationships with clients and partners that add value and deliver commercial success.
The candidate
You will have experience within monitoring, evaluation and learning within at least one relevant thematic area covered by the practice as well as some project management experience. Experience in the broad climate/ environment sector would be desirable but not essential.
Experience of working in a consultancy environment or equivalent is highly desirable, with experience across the full lifecycle from bidding to delivery and understand the commercial drivers that sit behind this both for the client and Itad.
We also know that there are great candidates who will not fit everything we have described above, or who have important skills we have not mentioned. If that is you, please do not hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself.
