Fabric Technician
Location: Peterborough (PE1)
Contract: Temporary
We are currently recruiting for a Fabric Technician to join a busy facilities management contract based in Peterborough. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong fabric maintenance and painting & decorating experience, working within a commercial environment.
The role:
You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive fabric maintenance tasks across the site, ensuring the building is kept to a high standard and remains safe and operational at all times.
Key duties include:
* Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks
* Carrying out reactive fabric repairs
* Inspecting and repairing floors, walls, doors, windows and associated fittings
* Painting and decorating works across the site as required
* Minor repairs to freestanding and fitted furniture
* Assisting engineering staff with general maintenance tasks
* Maintaining accurate maintenance, health & safety and quality records
* Managing tools, equipment and consumable stock
* Undertaking additional duties as directed by the Contract Manager or Facilities Supervisor
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator or Fabric Technician
* Strong all-round fabric maintenance skillset
* Good knowledge of painting techniques and methods
* Plastering experience (advantageous but not essential)
* Sound understanding of Health & Safety requirements
* Reliable, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team.
