Business Studies at Slemish College The Business Studies Department, at Slemish College, is highly successful, as evidenced by the consistently strong uptake of students and the outstanding results in public examinations, achieved each year. Currently the Department offers Business Communication Systems at GCSE Level, as well as Occupational Studies, Business and OCN NI Level 2 certificate in Skills for Business. At Post 16, the Department offers BTec Single Award Business. The Governors are looking to appoint an outstanding Subject Leader who is a dynamic, forward-thinking and successful practitioner, to lead the Business Studies Department. In addition to building on the excellent work currently evidenced in the Department, we want our New Subject Leader to drive ‘Young Enterprise’ as an extra–curricular activity along with bringing their unique skills and interests to contribute to the wider College Community. You will use data to benchmark progress, challenge outcomes and set targets and priorities. Uptake will act as a useful indicator of a thriving department, but it will never tell the whole story. Experiences -your department will contribute to life beyond the classroom, through school trips, Slemish and whole school events.
