We are seeking skilled and reliable MIG Mild Steel Welders to join our production team. The ideal candidates will have experience working with mild steel, reading fabrication drawings, and delivering high-quality welded assemblies. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform MIG welding on mild steel components to produce strong, clean, and accurate welds.
· Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols to determine specifications and materials required.
· Set up welding equipment, including voltage, wire feed, and shielding gas settings.
· Carry out grinding, fettling, or minor fabrication as needed to complete parts.
· Follow all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
· Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work area and tools.
· Report any defects, equipment faults, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Key Skills / Experience :
· Proven experience as a MIG Welder, ideally in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
· Basic fabrication skills including grinding, tacking, and assembly.
· Knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices.
· Experience using welding tools, jigs, and measuring instruments (verniers, tape measures).
· Certification in MIG welding (desirable but not essential).
· Forklift or overhead crane licence (advantageous, not required).
Hours: - 4 day week.
Mon - Thurs: hrs per week)
