Job Title: Cleaning Team Leader

Location: Bexhill (on-site)

Hours: Primarily 7am – 3pm but there is some degree of flexibility around this, plus you'll still need to be flexible a minimum of one day a week so that you can ensure you're spending time with all our cleaners that cover a variety of hours.

Role Overview

As our Cleaning Team Leader, you'll be a hands‑on people leader, responsible for overseeing and delivering high‑quality cleaning services across the Bexhill site. This role combines operational cleaning duties with leadership, coaching and performance management, ensuring colleagues are supported, capable and motivated to deliver consistently excellent workplace standards.

You'll actively contribute to a positive team culture, driving continuous improvement, and role‑model our departmental pillars of People, Safety, Service Excellence and Efficiency. As a key player within the wider Property Services Team, you'll help create a safe, welcoming and customer‑ready environment for colleagues and visitors.

Job details – you'll need to have demonstrable experience in:

Leading, motivating and inspiring the cleaning team to deliver consistent, high-quality standards and provide regular coaching, feedback and on-the-job training to build team capability
Carrying out hands-on cleaning tasks as part of the daily schedule, maintaining high standards throughout office areas, meeting rooms, washrooms etc. and ensure all rooms are cleaned, reset and prepared throughout the day
Ensuring the workplace environment is consistently safe, clean and customer ready and work collaboratively with the Facilities Manager, Security, Maintenance and other third party teams to support seamless service delivery
Promoting and enforcing all Health and Safety standards, including COSHH, manual handling and PPE and ensure all cleaning methodologies follow best practice
Supporting safety audits, inspections and compliance checks and maintaining accurate records, promptly escalating and risks, incidents or near-misses
Identifying opportunities to improve cleaning processes, safety, efficiency or sustainability across the team and wider department

Essential Skills/experience

Previous experience in a cleaning supervisory/team leader/senior cleaning role, ideally within a busy office environment
Strong understanding of cleaning products, techniques and standards
Demonstrable people leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and build engagement
Committed to delivering high standards and excellent customer experience
