Location

This is a remote position, open to candidates based anywhere in mainland UK, with quarterly visits to the Manchester office.


The Role

As the Airfreight Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and scaling a new airfreight offering from the ground up. This is a 100% new business role, focused on identifying opportunities, winning new clients, and establishing airfreight as a core service line within the wider logistics portfolio.

You will work both strategically and hands-on, owning the full sales lifecycle while collaborating closely with an experienced internal team. The role offers autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to shape a new arm of the business while delivering long-term commercial growth.


The Company

The business was established in 2001 and is part of one of the largest supply chain management groups globally. It currently provides sea and road freight solutions and has identified a clear market opportunity to expand into airfreight.

With a turnover of $99.5M and a workforce with exceptionally long tenure, the company is known for its stability, expertise, and customer-focused logistics solutions.


The Requirements

* Minimum 2+ years' experience in airfreight

* Proven ability to win new business and build a service line or vertical

* Experience selling to logistics managers, supply chain directors, or procurement leaders

* Proactive, strategic, and relationship-driven approach

* Comfortable working remotely and owning a nationwide remit


The Package

* Basic salary circa £55,000 (flexible for the right candidate)

* Uncapped bonus / OTE circa £10,000+

* £4,700 annual car allowance

* 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + birthday off

(holiday entitlement increases at 5, 10, and 15 years' service)

* Private medical insurance (after 1 year's service)

* Life assurance

* Laptop, mobile phone, and full remote setup
