What does it mean to be a JAG Playworker?

* Create an inclusive and fun atmosphere for children in our care, from picking them up from school to safely returning them to their parents or caregivers.
* Plan and execute structured and engaging activities that encourage maximum participation, such as multi-sports, games, arts and crafts, and structured play, ensuring they are age-appropriate and safe.
* Follow all health and safety protocols and policies, including signing in and out procedures, and keep all relevant documentation up to date.
* Provide refreshments for children, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
* Set up and pack away play spaces, moving furniture and equipment as needed.
* Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and kit.
* Champion health and safety, including providing first aid when necessary.
* Follow proper sign-in and sign-out procedures for all children.
* Communicate professionally and authentically with team members, parents, children, and schools.
* Keep all information and documents related to children confidential and secure.
* Inspire children and team members to have fun, be active, and lead healthy lifestyles.

This role requires compliance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education policy and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. You must provide two references, including one from your most recent employer and one from a childcare setting if applicable. A DBS check will be conducted.

Hours: Up to 15 hours per week during term time, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours during holiday clubs. Operational hours during term time are Monday to Friday, 7:30-9:00 and 15:00-18:00. Holiday clubs run from 8:30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday.

Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour (plus holiday pay). Contracts are casual, covering staff sickness, holidays, and busy sessions, with more permanent hours available.
