We are looking for a talented and self-motivated TDD Director to join a successful tax dispute resolution team, and to establish the team’s presence in Manchester and the North of England.
The TDD Director will look to establish a successful team from the Manchester office, delivering high-quality advisory services. The role is central to the Advisory Tax leadership team, with opportunities for professional growth and expansion of services across Manchester and the surrounding area.
The successful candidate will work closely with the TDD Partner to establish a leading Tax Disputes practice and take forward business development initiatives in a hugely satisfying client facing role, with a route to Partnership for the successful candidate based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
Winning new work for the team and wider firm from external sources, and able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to generating fees.
Driving strategic financial performance, ensuring profitability, effective budgeting, and helping to optimise team chargeability.
Leading all aspects of case management, championing service excellence, and identifying opportunities to introduce new work to the wider firm.
Building a high-quality proposition to attract new business opportunities.
Shaping the Firm’s people strategy, mentoring senior staff, fostering a high-performing and inclusive culture, and driving strategic growth, innovation, and thought leadership.
Providing bespoke and strategic plans to resolve complex tax disputes across all areas of taxation.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Ex-HM Inspector of Taxes; ACA and/or CTA; lawyer or paralegal with relevant experience
A background in tax disputes in another Tax Dispute Resolution or similar team.
Coaching and People Management.
Ability to demonstrate experience in the following
COP9 and COP8.
Disclosure facilities (WDF, LPC, DDS).
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Tax avoidance settlements.
Ability to demonstrate relevant practical experience in Tax Disputes including a history in winning new work.
High level of technical advisory expertise.
Self-starter capable of motivating, driving, and developing the team.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels including excellent inter-personal skills in dealing with clients in person and report writing, with the ability to explain and simplify highly technical point for clients to understand.
Strong relationship building, networking, and business development skills.
