Role Overview
The ClearSky Technical Delivery Projects Manager is responsible for the technical aspects including scoping, specification, design and delivery of the ClearSky Phase I & II projects (Electrification of Onsite Steam Generation). The role will lead a cross‑functional team (internal & external) and manage project delivery for all associated civil, electrical, mechanical (including steam) works, ensuring safety, quality, cost and delivery objectives while complying with regulatory and internal standards.
Your Objectives And Responsibilities Will Focus On
* Clear Sky I
o Take ownership for the completion of the Clear Sky Phase I project.
o Manage H&S activities for Clear Sky project.
o Engage with internal stakeholders and contractors to complete outstanding actions.
o Provide OpEx Budget projections for operating the new plant equipment.
o Complete SOPs and other documentation to allow transition of Clear Sky Operations to site maintenance.
* SteamBattery (SB) Operational improvement and maintenance
o Coordinate activities with SPX suppliers to meet required internal timescales.
o Manage activity related to the ongoing operation of SB.
o Manage the planning, delivery, installation and commissioning of upgrades.
o Define plan for continued operation of SB (e.g., clear procedures, standby contractors, subject‑matter experts).
* Clear Sky II
o Scope – develop the scope of works with clear milestones and deliverables.
o Specification – develop the Clear Sky II specification to include M&E, Steam system, civils and other associated infrastructure.
o Design – develop system design with internal & external subject‑matter experts.
o Costing & Budgeting – cost the project to develop CapEx proposal for executive approval, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets.
o Delivery & Commissioning – successfully deliver the project to agreed timescales and budgets using internal and external capabilities.
* Other
o Regularly communicate progress, barriers and general activities to key stakeholders, including leadership teams and Cheltenham‑based colleagues.
To be successful in this role you will…
* Demonstrate Company Core Values at all times.
* Hold an Engineering Degree or HND or equivalent experience.
* Have design experience of electromechanical products and hardware associated with industrial steam or other fluid applications.
* Previously led large‑scale multidisciplinary projects.
* Have been involved in product designs that meet legal compliances for industrial products and equipment, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pressure containment or sustainability standards.
* Have prior CDM experience.
* Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
* Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
* Proactive and detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on delivery.
* Expertise in the thermal electrification of steam systems.
* Expertise in mechanical industrial steam or other fluid applications with high‑pressure or temperature applications.
* Good understanding of harmonised standards such as PED / ASME.
* Contractor management experience.
