Senior Project Controller – Bristol
We are looking for a Senior Project Controller to support the Southwest Regional project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Project Leaders and PCM in planning, executing, monitoring & controlling and closing projects, ensuring that each stage is managed efficiently.
* Assist in the management of project budgets and costs, ensuring financial control and cost efficiency.
* Support the development and maintenance of project resource plans, monitoring utilisation and forecasting future resources.
* Contribute to risk management, identifying potential risks and supporting mitigation strategies.
* Provide essential support in managing project schedules, ensuring milestones are met on time and delays are addressed proactively.
* Support project teams in maintaining accurate project information within delivery systems, ensuring data quality, reporting and governance.
* Monitor project performance and provide timely reports to Project Leaders.
* Ensure internal governance and compliance processes are followed, in line with the Integrated Management System.
* Provide support during project kick‑off workshops, establishing a clear plan for execution.
* Contribute to lessons learned workshops, capturing and applying insights to improve future delivery.
* Support the change control process, tracking, documenting and communicating changes.
* Work closely with PCM to support team day‑to‑day activities, resolving issues and improving efficiency.
* Help embed Project Excellence principles through best practices.
* Collaborate with Project Leaders and Project Directors for seamless delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in project controls or a related role, ideally within engineering, construction, or consultancy environments.
* Understanding of project management techniques, including scheduling, risk management, and financial tracking.
* Experience supporting project planning, resource management or financial reporting.
* Proficiency in MS Office, advanced Excel, and Microsoft Project.
* Strong communication skills to interact with teams and stakeholders.
* Problem‑solving skills, identifying issues and supporting solutions.
* Strong analytical skills, interpreting performance data and identifying trends.
* Ability to work autonomously on specific tasks while supporting senior staff.
* Flexible approach to work, adapting to changing priorities.
* Commitment to learning and development in project controls and delivery.
