Talent Acquisition Apprentice

Location: Farnborough

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Apprenticeship Duration: 18 months

Qualification: Level 3 Certificate in Internal Recruitment

Gama Aviation are looking to welcome a Talent Acquisition Apprentice to our People & Talent Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in recruitment and talent acquisition, gaining hands‑on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

As a Talent Acquisition Apprentice, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of an efficient and high‑quality recruitment process across the business. Working closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager, Talent Acquisition Advisor and Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you will gain exposure to every stage of the recruitment lifecycle; from advertising vacancies and screening applications to coordinating interviews and supporting offer administration.

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to build practical experience in a fast‑paced corporate environment while developing a strong understanding of recruitment systems, candidate attraction, stakeholder engagement and hiring best practice. You will progressively take on greater responsibility as your confidence and skills grow, supported by a close‑knit team who are passionate about recruitment and committed to your development.

No previous recruitment experience is required. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, eager to learn, enjoys working with people and is excited by the opportunity to build a long‑term career in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources.

Responsibilities

* Acting as the first point of contact for basic internal and external enquiries or requests related to recruitment and escalating to the relevant team member
* Assisting with the uploading of new vacancies to Sage People for approval and uploading approved roles to the relevant advertising platforms internally and externally
* Supporting with the management of job advertising expiry dates and refreshing advertising as required across relevant platforms
* Supporting with the production of social media posts promoting current vacancies and talent initiatives
* Coordinating, producing and distributing the weekly “internal vacancies” communication to all employees and updating the internal intranet with vacancies as required
* Supporting with the initial sifting and screening of CV’s for live vacancies within the business, ensuring all applicants receive a positive experience throughout the process
* Supporting with the scheduling of interviews including obtaining candidate availability both directly and via recruitment agencies, sending MS Teams invites and confirming booked slots with line managers, as well as providing feedback post interviews
* Supporting in the preparation of interview packs for hiring managers including CV’s, guidance documents and interview feedback forms
* Assisting with maintaining accurate candidate and vacancy data within Sage People
* Providing a positive experience to all candidates throughout recruitment processes
* Supporting the Talent Acquisition Manager with issuing prepared offer letters and contracts of employment via AdobeSign, and uploading completed documentation to Sage People
* Assisting with the management of the recruitment inboxes and responding to candidate queries surrounding applications, interviews and feedback, escalating queries to the Talent Acquisition Manager as required
* Supporting with the collation and input of hiring data into reports for use within the People & Talent Team and wider business
* Supporting the Talent Team with the organisation and coordination of career events
* Supporting with the administering of candidate and hiring manager surveys including collation of feedback


Skills, Qualifications and Experience required


Essential

* GCSEs (or equivalent) grade 4/C or above in Maths and English
* A strong interest in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment or Human Resources
* Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Technically confident and comfortable learning new systems
* Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively
* Proactive mindset with a genuine desire to learn and develop
* Enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment
* Confident to ask questions and seek guidance when needed


Advantageous

* Previous administrative or office experience
* Experience using HR systems or recruitment software
