Millburn Homesis is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join their team. This is a full‑time role on a 42‑hour contract. Wed, Thurs, Fri / Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun split, 08.00‑20.00 role. £13.10 per hour
Millburn is located in Cambuslang, on the outskirts of Glasgow. Our home offers residential support for 20 people with a variety of needs, including autistic adults, people with learning disabilities, and individuals with mental health and physical health needs. Our staff are dedicated to supporting the people we care for to increase their participation, independence, socialisation, and communication, so they can lead happy and healthy lives. Experience is ideal but not required; we seek individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents’ well‑being. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
* Supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support your peers with their performance and professional development
* Lead support planning and act as point of contact in the absence of site leadership
* Assist with the management of site petty cash and client funds
* Support personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, and personal hygiene
* Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed linens
* Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
* Assist with attending medical appointments
* Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well‑being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
* Support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
* Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

* Previous experience in a similar setting
* Good numeracy skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature

* Ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
* Competent in verbal and written English
* A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
