Astute's Nuclear team is exclusively partnered with a specialist lifting and handling equipment business, acting as the lifting principal contractor on Hinkley Point C. We are currently recruiting a Lift/Rigging Supervisor to support safe lifting operations for gantry crane installation and maintenance.
You will work in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment and prepare, inspect, and use lifting equipment (slings, shackles, chains, spreader beams, lifting frames) in line with LOLER and site standards.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Black Hat Supervisor, you will:
1. Safely attach and detach loads to gantry crane hooks and lifting devices.
2. Signal and direct crane operators during lifts, ensuring clear communication (using hand signals, radios, or agreed site protocols).
3. Assist in the movement and positioning of heavy and complex loads, including large prefabricated nuclear plant components.
4. Follow all Hinkley Point C site safety procedures, RAMS (Risk Assessment & Method Statements), and permit-to-work systems.
