Company Description
tallu is a gamified learning platform designed to make AI accessible, practical, and enjoyable. Inspired by Duolingo, our platform requires no tech background, only a desire to learn and grow. Our mission is to empower people and companies by providing the skills and tools needed to unlock AI's full potential, leveling the playing field for students, job-seekers, side hustlers, and anyone looking to thrive in the AI era.
We’ve built our MVP, the platform is live, and we’re now focused on go-to-market growth, turning tallu into a household name in AI learning. We’re remote-first, creative, and mission-led. Everyone on the team has the freedom to travel and work from anywhere in the world, as long as results and momentum stay high.
Role Description
You’ll lead tallu’s technical direction and turn our live MVP into a scalable, global learning platform.
This means owning the product architecture, improving system performance, and ensuring tallu runs smoothly for thousands of learners as we grow.
You’ll be the technical anchor, transforming vision into clean, efficient systems that can evolve fast, while working closely with the founder on product innovation, integrations, and automation.
What You’ll Do
* Lead the technical vision and roadmap for tallu as we scale from MVP to global platform.
* Oversee platform performance, infrastructure, and security.
* Build or optimise integrations with AI APIs, automation systems, and analytics tools.
* Translate user feedback and product goals into efficient, maintainable features.
* Collaborate directly with the founder on UX, feature releases, and experimentation.
* Create a scalable architecture that supports new learning paths, gamification, and community features.
* Hire, mentor, and manage technical talent as we grow the team.
What We Expect / Commitment
These are equity-based co-founder roles, not salaried positions (yet).
We’re completely transparent about that.
We’re looking for people who want to build something meaningful from the ground up, people who are in a season where they’d rather create ownership than just collect a paycheck.
Expectations:
* Around 15–25 hours per week to start, transitioning to full-time once funding or revenue allows.
* A genuine belief in tallu’s mission and a desire to make AI education global.
* A builder’s mindset, you’ll be trusted to own your area fully.
* Clear communication, accountability, and consistency.
In return, you’ll have full creative freedom, equity ownership, and the chance to build a global education platform from day one, alongside a founder who’s all in.
Qualifications
* Strong background in web or app development (experience with Supabase, JavaScript, or similar stacks is a plus).
* Confident integrating APIs, automations, and no-code/low-code platforms.
* A systems thinker - obsessed with clean architecture, speed, and scalability.
* Able to turn broad vision into a detailed technical plan.
* Experienced leading or building small tech teams.
* Excited by AI tools, ideally someone who’s already experimenting in this space.
* Entrepreneurial mindset: you enjoy solving problems, not waiting for permission.
What We Offer
•Equity-based compensation with standard vesting, giving you real ownership in tallu’s long-term success
•Full creative freedom to shape your department and make key decisions without micromanagement
•Work from anywhere - we’re fully remote and trust results over hours
•Autonomy from day one - you’ll take full ownership of your area and have the freedom to build it your way
•Leadership authority to make hiring decisions and structure your future team as we grow
•A global mission that actually matters, helping people all over the world gain practical AI skills and change their careers
•Future compensation once revenue or funding allows, reflecting your commitment and contribution
How to Apply
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, send an email to dayo@tallu.app with the subject line CTO – Building tallu Together
Tell me a bit about who you are and what you’ve built before. Include links to your GitHub, portfolio, or any live projects you’ve launched.
Share how you’d approach building a scalable AI-learning product from your own experience. What would you prioritise? What features or systems would you add to make tallu stand out?
I’m not looking for someone to just execute. I’m looking for a real partner with ideas and perspective. Show me how you think, not just what you can code.
