The IT Support Engineer plays a crucial role in assisting teachers and learners. As part of a team, you will provide first-class support to educational users, working according to ITIL best practices. You will collaborate with the service desk to meet SLA targets, escalate issues when necessary, and ensure excellent customer service. The role is suitable for someone who enjoys troubleshooting IT problems and supporting users with varying levels of IT knowledge.
Responsibilities
* Be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring excellent service delivery.
* Assist the service desk in providing managed support services.
* Provide technical assistance to school-based users and report issues following service desk policies.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
* Strong customer focus, problem-solving, and time management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Punctuality and ability to prioritize tasks.
* Skill in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, asking relevant questions, and knowing when to research or escalate.
* Ability to work well remotely and build strong relationships.
Skills and Experience
* Maintenance and support of Desktop & Mobile Devices (Laptops, Chromebooks, Tablets).
* Peripheral support including printing, scanning, interactive screens, projectors, and audio/visual equipment.
* Basic wired and wireless networking troubleshooting.
* Image build and deployment for Microsoft and Apple devices.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google Workspace.
* Technical knowledge equivalent to CompTIA A+ or similar.
* Familiarity with ITIL methodology and ticketing systems like ServiceNow is advantageous.
