Overview and Purpose of Role
As an important member of the Fabrication team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all steel is welded and fabricated to a high standard so that it can be progressed to the next stage of manufacturing.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Read and understand engineering drawings.
* Clean steel before, during and at the end of use.
* Use disc grinder to smooth out, weld, or grind parts prior to welding.
* Weld/fabricate steel component parts.
* Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
* Ensure all works comply with quality procedures.
* Work as part of a team to develop continuous improvement.
* Ensure compliance to all general site rules, regulations, policies & procedures.
* Perform any other duties as required by management to suit business needs.
* Adhere to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
* Adhere to company health and safety procedures.
Experience & Training
* Previous experience of MIG welding to a high standard in a work environment.
* Previous experience working in a heavy manufacturing/engineering environment.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Proven measurement and mathematical skills.
* Previous experience of TIG welding to a high standard in a work environment.
* Previous experience in the same industry would be regarded advantageous.
