Support Assistant Within SEND Schools - Cheltenham
Are you a compassionate and patient individual who enjoys helping children thrive? We’re seeking a Support Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Cheltenham, supporting pupils aged 4 to 11 with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex learning needs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Providing individual and small-group support to pupils in the classroom
2. Assisting students with learning activities and personal care where needed, including moving and handling with hoists
3. Supporting children to manage emotions, routines, and transitions throughout the school day
4. Helping to implement personalised learning and care plans
5. Building positive, trusting relationships that encourage independence and self-esteem
6. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff

To be considered for the role of a Classroom Support Assistant in SEN schools you will:
13. Be flexible.
14. Experience in Classroom Support (Preferable)
15. have your own transport
16. Experience with both small group and 1:1 is beneficial
17. Friendly and nurturing qualities.
18. Competent behaviour management skills.
19. Familiarity with a range of needs (e.g., ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder, SLD - Severe Learning Difficulty and PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty).
20. Preferablymoving and handling training or have recent experience in this.
21. Have a patient and caring nature.
22. Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
23. Willing to complete CPD training.

Salary
£445-£470 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
