About the Role:
We are looking for a Product Governance Analyst to join a growing, nationwide insurance business. This role is ideally suited for someone with foundational experience in insurance (broker or insurer), who understands how insurance products work, and has a keen interest in governance, regulatory compliance, and the new Consumer Duty framework.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team that is product-focused and business-facing, where you’ll play a vital role in understanding, reviewing, and helping govern our suite of insurance products. While formal governance experience is great to have, we’re equally interested in motivated individuals eager to grow into the role and learn the product landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
* Learn and understand the insurance product landscape and the systems used (including OneView).
* Work closely with experienced team members to build your understanding of our products and governance processes.
* Conduct product reviews, asking open, investigative questions to assess compliance, fairness, and customer-centricity in line with Consumer Duty.
* Support the wider team in delivering regulatory requirements and maintaining product oversight frameworks.
* Engage with stakeholders across the business to ensure clear understanding and implementation of governance processes.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of governance documentation and product governance reviews.
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
* Experience working in an insurance company or broker.
* A solid understanding of how insurance products work across any business line.
* Interest or some experience in product governance, Consumer Duty, or regulatory compliance.
* Comfortable asking open-ended questions and thinking critically about products and processes.
* Willingness to learn quickly and grow within a supportive team.
Desirable:
* Experience conducting or supporting product reviews.
* Familiarity with FCA regulations or other compliance frameworks.
* Exposure to governance or risk management within insurance.
Team Structure & Support:
* You'll report directly into a Head of Product Governance (Andy), who manages a team of 10 FTEs.
* You'll be buddied up with a more experienced colleague to support your development.
* This role is part of a growing team, with additional hires expected in the coming months.
* There are 11–12 team members based offshore (India), collaborating regularly with the UK team.
Onboarding & Progression:
* First 3 Months: Focused on understanding the insurance business, product suite, systems (like OneView), and building relationships.
* Post-Onboarding: Begin conducting product reviews and taking ownership of specific product lines.
Interview Process:
* Stage 1 (30–45 minutes): Informal interview with Andy to assess your personality, motivation, and cultural fit – not overly technical.
* Stage 2 (30 minutes): Meet with a team member to discuss product governance in more detail. You may be asked to:
* Discuss an insurance product you've worked on.
* Talk through what kind of questions you'd ask during a product review.
* Demonstrate how you'd approach understanding whether a product meets regulatory or customer standards.
